Yes, it's outside only for a few weeks but our walled beer garden has plenty of cover with 2 marques and a covered pergola plus we have fresh blankets to loan to keep the cold out..
We will do our very best to provide everyone with a safe environment to socialise, enjoy great home-made food and be entertained with a program of 'incidental' free live music on alternate Saturdays and weekly ‘open mic’ sessions from 3pm on Sundays (the play-where-you-sit buskin’ format made for a lot of fun and safe afternoons last Summer and Autumn).
Small steps, but by following the rules, maintaining social distancing, with extra cleanliness and by staying alert we will protect the NHS and save lives. Obviously, if you
feel unwell please stay at home and seek medical advice.
Stay safe and keep well, Nigel & Sue
The Bildeston Kings Head pub is an award winning traditional Grade II listed freehold, freehouse, run by Nigel & Sue, dating from around 1500 and heavily timbered inside with an inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove.
We serve the picturesque village of Bildeston a former "wool town" in the heart of the lovely Suffolk countryside. We pride ourselves on our warm atmosphere and welcome families, walkers, cyclists, and of course our friendly locals. When it's cold outside, keep warm by the fire while in summer you and the kids will enjoy our outdoor family seating and enclosed play area.
Quench your thirst with one of our own real ales, brewed on site in the old cart lodge at the rear. Otherwise we always have a local guest ale, cider, plus draft and bottled lagers or ciders and our selection of fine wines and soft drinks.
If you are hungry try our varied menu of starters, mains and deserts all freshly homemade with quality ingredients, locally sourced where possible. We are well known for tasty beer-battered fish & chips, delicious boozy beef pie (Suffolk Red Poll beef) and our freshly prepared traditional Sunday roasts. Meals are cooked to order and available to eat-in or take-away. To reserve a table please phone Sue or Nigel on 01449 741434 01449 741434 .
The Kings Head, Bildeston is ideally placed for walking and cycling, there are plenty of footpaths and quiet country lanes to explore and get lost on. Suffolk's many visitor attractions are close by, with the tourist hotspot villages of Lavenham and Kersey only a few miles away.
